EPILOGUE: HOW CANADA HAS (NOT) CHANGED

o The life, the behavior and the general "culture" are very influenced by the USA

o There are still the same 5 salad dressings in the restaurant offers as 20 years ago

o A low-cost life in Canada is something else

o Free Wifi is offered everywhere

o Gasoline costs on average 1.45 CAD = 1 Euro

o There are an incredible number of cars, especially campers traveling through the country and cities

o Our Asian, not always so considerate people are just everywhere

o Without huge billboards it would be a different country

o There are really not only a few, helpful and friendly Canadians

o Many micro-breweries have sprung up in the countryside and in the cities: Delicious!

TRAVEL TIPS

No. 1: For us the most beautiful locations of the trip are the unique Maligne Lake near Jasper, the mighty Athabasca Falls in the Rockies, the quiet Fairy Lake with the famous "Lonely Tree", the former railway tunnels and the rousing canyon in the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park in Hope, the romantic Revelstoke on the Columbia River and Port Alberni, the fishing paradise on Vancouver Island.

No. 2: We especially liked and tasted it in the restaurant "Eleven22" in Golden, https://www.eleven22restaurant.com/,

in the restaurant & pub "The Black Fin" in Comox, https://blackfinpub.com/,

in the "Ebizo" sushi restaurant in Victoria, 604 Broughton Street,

in "Kimchi House Korean Restaurant" at Jasper, 407 Patricia Street, http://kimchihousejasper.com/,

in the "Iron Horse Pub" off Highway 24 in Lone Butte (near 100 Mile House) in the heart of the Cariboo Mountains, https://www.facebook.com/caribooironhorse/

and in the "Bare Bones Fish & Chips Restaurant" in Port Alberni, 4824 Johnston Road.

No. 3: We had a great rest in the gorgeous "Beausoleil B & B" in Golden, https://www.lebeausoleilbandb.com/,

in the wonderful "Cedar Wood Lodge B & B" in Port Alberni, https://cedarwood.bc.ca/

and in the venerable antique hotel "The Hume" in Nelson, https://www.humehotel.com/.

PS .: We thank Cindy Lewis so much, who accompanied us so lovingly as our chef on our boat tour through the Great Bear Rainforest, for her permission to publish two of her wonderful photos of the "Spirit Bear" here in our travel blog. Unfortunately we have not seen this white giant .....
